Talking sh*t for a good cause
STUNT, PR, SOCIAL
THE CHALLENGE
While many other personal topics have ceased to be taboo, talking about poop remains off-limits for many people—and that's a big problem. In fact, 46% of Americans avoid talking to their doctor about important health issues because they feel embarrassed, with bowel health ranking high on the list.
THE SOLVE
To encourage people to discuss a topic they avoid at all costs, we decided to start the conversation ourselves... in public. We asked strangers to sit on a toilet and answer a few questions about their poop. The video was shared on social channels, sparking ongoing online discussions. An interactive website, with a touch of humor, served as a great icebreaker, helping people realize that this discussion could be just as easy to have with their doctor in person.
Case Study
Promo Video
PR partner, AbelsonTaylor launched this promotional video starring Wendy Williams that got the word out about the campaign.
Interactive Website Experience
The Toilet Talk website allowed users to answer a series of questions about their bowel health using an interactive form, narrated by our host. When completed, the website prompts the user to share their answers with their doctor and use it as a discussion tool during their next visit.
Promotion
Through paid social, banners, and a little help from Wendy Williams, we prompted the public to participate in the interactive survey with the incentive of donating $1 for each survey taken to the American Gastroenterological Association.
Press
Wendy Williams helped to get the word out about the cause to a variety of news outlets.
